 Since their inception in 2021, the Kerala Jyothi, Kerala Prabha, and Kerala Sree awards have distinguished themselves by honoring excellence in social service, arts, and community development.

Presented annually in celebration of 'Keralappiravi,' or Kerala formation day on November 1, these awards not only acknowledge the remarkable achievements of individuals but also inspire future generations to embrace altruism and uphold the values of creativity, responsibility, and community service

The Kerala government on Thursday (October 31) announced the prestigious 2024 Kerala Awards, honoring the contributions of eight notable individuals

Modeled after the Padma Awards, these honors recognize excellence across various fields, with recipients including celebrated writer M. K. Sanu, cricketer Sanju Samson and ISRO chairman S. Somanath.


Selection Process

The recipients undergo a rigorous three-tier selection process, beginning with a primary scrutiny committee, followed by a secondary scrutiny committee, and culminating in the final award committee, which includes prominent figures such as veteran filmmaker Adoor Gopalakrishnan, K. Jayakumar and B. Iqbal.
