The 52nd Kerala State Film Awards were revealed today (May 27) at 4 p.m. by Saji Cherian, Minister for Culture.
This year, there was a large number of films to choose from, with around 142 films from all genres, including commercial and arthouse films, submitted. In the end, 29 films were considered. Syed Akhtar Mirza, director of Hindi films, presided over the jury.
Joju George received the prize for his roles in the films, 'Madhuram, Thuramukham, Freedom Fight, and Nayattu.' For his excellent portrayal as an elderly man in Sanu Varghese's directorial 'Aarkkariyam,' actor Biju Menon shares the best actor award with Joju.
While the veteran actress Revathi was selected as the Best Actress for her performance in the film 'Bhoothakalam.'
