  • Chancellor – The governor of the state, appointed by the president, acts as the chancellor of the university.
  • Founder of Kerala University – Chithira Thirunal Balarama Varma.
  • (CUK) came under the Central Universities Act 2009 (Parliament Act No. 25 of 2009). However, unlike other universities of Kerala, the chancellor of CUK is Prof. H. Venkateshwarlu.
  • APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University, also known as Kerala Technological University (KTU).
  • Visva Bharati University founded by Rabindranath Tagore is the only central university that has Prime Minister (PM) as its chancellor.
  • First Digital University of Kerala – Kerala University of Digital Science, Innovation and Technology.
    • Formerly known as Indian Institute of Information Technology and Management, Kerala (IITM-K).
